The Mt. Kenya region seems to be gaining rifts politically, with the latest one being Mt Kenya East leaders expressing their desire to step away from jubilee party and create their own outfit so as to gain more clout and bargaining power ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Leaders have tasked Meru Movernor to come up with a political party that will raise Mt Kenya east's profile, and offer direction in actualising the regions socio-economic and political agenda.
The elders spoke at the thanks giving ceremony of Meru Governor celebrating his recovery from corona virus.
The Governor had been suffering from corona virus and just recently he was confirmed to be healed. The celebrations was also attended by the speaker of national assembly,Imenti North's Member of parliament Hon. Rahim Dawood in attendence insisted the importance of the region having its own party as it assist even in selection to committees in Parliament.
