Al Shanasb menace in North Eastern continues to increase with them attacking residents now and then.
Recent news hitting the media House claim that suspected Al Shabaab militants have hijacked an Ambulance belonging to Lafey sub-County Hospital in Mandera County, disappearing with the driver, paramedic and a patient.
The whereabouts of the three who were abducted on Tuesday evening between Lafey and Elwak Town is yet to be known.
Confirming the incident Mandera county head of the county ambulance services Fatima Noor said she’s since alerted the police who are currently pursuing the militias.
Lafey Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Mohamed Abdiker has condemned the incident and asked the government to speed up the recovery of the ambulance and the occupants as well as also restore peace and order in the area.
“We cannot accept Alshabab to rule over our people and intercept an ambulance that provides emergency services. I demand that the police follow it up and return the ambulance to Lafey,” Abdiker said.
