Maraga's Message to Koome on Inaugration Amidst BBI Ruling Appeal By Uhuru Kenyatta

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has lauded the first female CJ Lady Justice Martha Koome as she took the oath of office as the next President of the Judiciary.

Search for Maraga's successor finally reached it's climax with this crucial ceremony. The Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has set to hand over the tools of work on Monday.

The accelerated push for Koome's installation as the CJ had raised red flags among Kenyans.

MUHURI had earlier disclosed that her former involvement in unconstitutional entities questioned her integrity and trait.

Maraga's message

Maraga penned a congratulatory message to the sitting CJ Lady Justice Martha Koome.

He wished her success on the start of her journey. The incoming CJ is shouldered with a heavy responsible of protecting the freedom of the Judiciary.

She has been inaugurated at a very trying moment. A time that the two prominent figures are fighting for their dying project.

It is a wake up call for Koome to ensure that the judicial authority prevails in Kenya since it emphasizes on the sovereign power of the public.

The authority is derived from the people and practiced by courts and other tribunals. Justice should be served to the handshake duo and the Chief Hustler regardless of their positions.

Koome should not lean on one side of the two parties while delivering the BBI ruling for a second time.
