Just one day after the voting was completed, the republic of Kenya began the process of counting the votes today. While some tallying centers have already announced the victors of certain seats, several are still conducting this procedure as we speak.As of 8:01 PM tonight, The Nation Africa posted the most recent results of the presidential election on their facebook page. As can be seen from their post, Hon. Raila Odinga of the ODM party is trailing Dr. William Ruto, Kenya's deputy president, who is running on the UDA ticket.Ruto is in the lead with 51.40% of the vote, and Raila Odinga is in second place with 47.95% of the vote. In terms of total votes, Ruto received 3,470,606 whereas Raila Odinga received 3,237,371. The leader of the Roots party, Professor George Wajackoya, has 0.43% of the vote, while Mwaure of the Agano party has 0.22%. These, however, are preliminary data because the counting process is still ongoing.
