A few weeks ago president William Ruto nominated the former National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi to be the next attorney general.
Muturi joined Kenya Kwanza camp with his Democratic party (DP) while he was still the speaker. He has served as speaker since 2013 and his position was taken over by Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.
He is also among the leaders who have been awarded with top government jobs by the head of state and he took time to visit the office he is expected to take over as the next AG.
The position is currently being held by Kihara Kariuki, who was nominated for the post by the former president, Uhuru Kenyatta, following the resignation of Githu Muigai.

At the office he met with Kihara and the solicitor general Kennedy Ogeto they discussed relevant issues relating to the office of the attorney general (OAG) and the department of justice (DOJ).
