According to The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) the engagement and turn up voters remains major concerned that requires the government to intervene through mass education in order to improve number of those who are registering as voters.
Keeping in mind that, the second phase of voters registrationwill come to an end on February 6, 2022. The commission had targeted to register about 4.5 million who were left out on the first phase of voters registration which ended last year.
Today, IEBC as revealed that for the first time in one week they have registerd about 228,849 voters which is a good number compared to initial weeks due to low turn up of voters. However the commission as said there is need for Kenyans to know importance of exercising democracy through voting.
