Former director of criminal investigation (DCI) boss Mr George Kinoti resigned ten days ago just few minutes before the appointment of Cabinet nominees by president William Ruto. The news of his resignation was officially released by the head of state when he was addressing the Media.
Immediately after his resignation, national police service commission (NPSC) declared his position vacant as they called for qualified Kenyans seeking to fill the position left by Mr Kinoti to submit their applications. They hinted that they will employ someone who has at least 10 years experience in the criminal investigation department. Currently, Dr Hamisi Massa is the acting DCI chief until a new person is appointed.
Through the star newspaper page 4 to 5, their is a list of senior security personnel and lawyers who have already applied for the DCI job. They include the following;
1.Munga Nyale
He is the principal assistant to the inspector general of police.
2.Mohamed Amin
He is the Director of internal affairs unit.
3.Eliud Langat
Director of reforms at DCI.
4. Wanderi Mwangi
Head of DCI ( Railways)
5.John Gachomo
Head of investigations (DCI)
6.David Birech
Director of reforms at police
7.Carrey Nyawinda
Head of banking in the fraud investigation unit
8.Nickolas Kamwende
Director of planning at DCI
