Angry Raila Decries Impunity and Abuse Of Police Powers In By-Election

In his twitter handle, former prime minister Raila Odinga has warned the jubilee government not to take for granted the post-2018 peaceful co-existence agreement(Handshake). He warned those he termed as rogue elements within the government not to confuse the handshake for an excuse to erode Kenya's hard earned liberties.

He was angered by what he termed an abuse of police powers and arrogant display of impunity by few overzealous and bellicose government functionaries in Bonchari and Juja by-elections. He further clarified that security forces exist to serve the people and not the interests of those out to conduct political experiments.

Raila has been a frustrated man in recent months, earlier this year his allies decried questionable goodwill by some senior government officials in pushing for constitutional amendment BBI. Senator Moses Kajwang yesterday on national television blamed Uhuru's men for what he termed as not wanting to legalize the Constitutional amendment Bill(BBI) and therefore its nullification by the courts.
