Rachael Ruto Reveals the Lady who won 130 Million Grand Prize from Mukuru Slams

Mama Rachael Ruto is the founder of the Joyful Women Organization in Kenya. She is also the wife of Kenya's current President William Samoei Ruto. She today revealed that the winner of the Ksh 130 million Earthshort Price for clean stoves has been selected. A young woman from the Mukuru slams in Nairobi, she is the founder of burners that use processed biomass consisting of charcoal, wood, and sugarcane bagasse as fuel.

Rachael remarked on her Twitter account that the tale of Charlot Magayi is noteworthy since he helped address problems with fuel in the informal settlement of Mukuru. She was referring to the fact that he was able to do this. According to her, the Mukuru Clean Stoves from Charlot are not only user-friendly but also relatively inexpensive and good for the environment.

Following her daughter's ordeal with serious burns caused by a charcoal-burning stove, Charlot had the inspiration for the invention.

Shows and exhibitions, encouragement of skills and theatre, and other such activities are among the ways the Kenyan government is fostering innovative thinking. This results in a development of the economy through the industrialization of existing businesses and the creation of new jobs.
