Mt Kenya region where the DP has purportedly has been receive massive support despite his fall out with their alleged kingpin president Kenyatta has cautioned the DP not to expect their automatic support to be successor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A section of leaders from central Kenya have warned the second in command not to be so sure of their automatic support ahead of 2022 general election.

According to a report shared by Daily Nation, five leaders from Mount Kenya claimed that their people from the region will wait for President Kenyatta to tell them the direction to take in the 2022 elections. While speaking to the press in Sagana town, Kirinyaga County during a meeting of Kikuyu elders, the leaders accused the deputy president of undermining the President and called on him to quit if he is uncomfortable with Uhuru's leadership.

"He has been going round conducting early campaigns even after he was told by the President to stop and focus on development of the country. Dr Ruto's political marriage with the President may soon be over," Mr Gitau stated.

The leaders further claimed that they only know of their political kingpin president Kenyatta and are waiting for his instructions ahead of 2022. They warned that they won't allow an outsider to decide their region.

“Our President has an immense wealth of experience and we shall listen to him come 2022 polls. We shall not be divided by any outsider," added Mr Gitura who is the immediate former senator of Muranga.

The leaders who spoke at the meeting included were former senators Kembi Gitura (Murang'a) and Daniel Karaba (Kirinyaga).
