Big Boost For Moses Kuria As Court Rules In Favour Of His Party Ahead Of Kiagu Ward By Elections

"The commission, in compliance with the conservatory orders, shall not conduct the by-election for Kiagu ward scheduled for October 14 until determination of the said case," IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati stated when the by elections were halted.

Chama Cha Kazi candidate, Milton Mwenda was disqualified from vying for the by elections that were to take place in Kiagu Ward, but Moses Kuria challenged this decision in High Court.

According to the latest reports from the Standard digital news reports, Nairobi High Court has ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to include Milton Mwenda to the list of candidates in the by elections.

"IEBC ordered by court to include Moses Kuria's Chama Cha Kazi candidate Milton Mwenda in Kiagu Ward (Meru) by-elections." The reports stated.

Moses Kuria's candidate was disqualified from vying for the vacant seat as he was alleged to have nor resigned from his clerk job that he held prior to the by elections.

This is a big boost to the CCM party who are set to go head to head with DP William Ruto’s UDA candidate.
