Delegates and elected leaders from different political parties are currently making their way to Kenya International Conference Centre in Nairobi. President Uhuru Kenyatta, former prime minister Raila Odinga and One Kenya Alliance principals are expected to grace the mega event.
Vihiga county ANC party senator George Khaniri is among the attendees at Kenya International Conference Centre in Nairobi for the mega Azimio La Umoja movement delegates conference.
Senator George Khaniri was elected in both 2013 and 2017 polls on a ANC party ticket. He is one of the longest serving politicians in larger Western region. ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi hails from the county.
It is not clear whether the ANC senator has ditched ANC party for Azimio La Umoja movement. He is eyeing for Vihiga gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming elections. He is keen on unseating the incumbent governor Wilber Ottichilo who is seeking his reelection on a ODM party ticket.
Other leaders from Western region present in the conference includes; former UNCTAD secretary general Mukhisa Kituyi, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, Kakamega women representative Elsie Muhanda among other elected leaders.
