Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned the Kamba people not to fall for Deputy President William Ruto's advances.
Kalonzo said at a burial on the outskirts of Mwingi town that Ruto was out to deceive the community with his "ill-gotten wealth."
He ridiculed Ruto's bottom-up economy approach, calling it a handout-oriented paradigm designed to provide quick remedies.
According to Kalonzo, the model will not take the country to targeted economic heights.
While urging the congregation to pray for the country, Kalonzo poked fun at the DP, saying it was unfortunate how many leaders used public positions to profit themselves and then used the earnings to bribe their way to power.
The leader of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) claimed the moment has come for him to run for the country's highest office. He stated that he would not play second fiddle to anyone this time.
The Wiper leader said that he was well aware that he could not win alone. He stated that he will seek relationships with other leaders in order to realize his aspirations.
Ruto has been in the Ukambani region, where he has asked the community to support his presidential campaign in 2022.
