Karua's selection as Odinga's running partner has drawn mixed reviews. Mutahi Ngunyi, a political analyst, claims that if she works hard in Mount Kenya, she will be able to make up for what Kalonzo would have brought to Azimio from the Ukambani region.
According to Kiraitu Murungi, the two are reformists working together. Women across the country are drawn to Karua, and Odinga has been praised for appointing a woman as his Deputy President.
Raila is confident that Martha Karua will cast millions of votes for him in the Ukambani region. If Azimio La Umoja wins, Kenya will have a female Deputy President for the first time.
Martha has increased her efforts to ensure that Ruto does not receive a large number of votes.
Karua is now in charge, with Ruto close behind. Ruto is supposed to be following Karua through Mount Kenya, with a focus on regions where Karua has traveled. This is in the hopes of reducing Karua's gains.
As time goes on, Ruto's campaign has picked 11 regions in which it will focus its efforts.
Surprisingly, Ruto's list includes Mount Kenya regions, as seen below, but will he be able to handle Karua's wave?
