UDA through an official notice, has declared that it will field candidates in the three upcoming by-elections just hours after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission announced the official dates for these elections.
UDA has invited interested and qualified candidates to apply to be considered for nominations, they will field candidates in both Eldas Ward, Kiagu, and Nguu/Musumba. The applicants are supposed to pay a total of 30,000/= however, for the youths and people living with disabilities, they are required to pay a total of 20,000/= The deadline for application is 4th day of August 2021.
This is a clear indication that another battlefield for Jubilee and UDA has been created considering that two out of the three seats were previously occupied by Jubilee members.
The battle comes barely weeks after heated ones in Kiambaa and Muguga where Jubilee lost the Kiambaa seat previously occupied by Paul Koinange a staunch member of the ruling party.
