As the 2022 General Election gains momentum, political leaders are also busy organizing their political camps. Politicians who intend to vie for a political seat in an election normally show their interest earlier enough.
And today details have emerged that there are people who have been spreading fake news that Lunga Lunga Member of Parliament Hon Khatib Mwashetani is no longer running for Kwale gubernatorial race in the next year polls.
The vocal Tangatanga legislator is one of the Deputy President William Ruto trusted allies in the Coast region. However, his quest to succeed the outgoing Governor Salim Mvurya will be not an easy task.
The Governor himself is supporting his Deputy Hon Fatuma Achani to succeed him to implement his legacy. Mvurya and his deputy had hinted that he will join Ruto's Camp ahead of 2022 but the entering of Mwashetani into the gubernatorial race could complicate the equation.
Others who have expressed their interests include, the County Assembly Speaker Hon Sammy Ruwa, who is an ODM member who has expressed his interest and enjoys a lot of support from the MCAs.
