The deputy president's running mate honourable Rigathi Gachagua has been the UDA party's loyal and die-hard supporter since the time the deputy president parted ways with his boss Mr Uhuru Kenyatta. The Mathira constituency member of parliament has been behind Dr William Ruto in both good and bad times.

Mathira member of parliament after receiving a UDA ticket as honourable William Ruto's running mate, he decided to hand the Mathira constituency UDA party ticket to one of his favorites so as to continue preaching the UDA gospel on the mountain.

Honourable Rigathi Gachagua therefore handed the UDA ticket to the Konyu ward member of county assembly Mr Eric Wamumbi. According to Dr Ruto's running mate, Eric Wamumbi is a hard working man who keeps his words and promises.

Honourable Eric Wamumbi therefore promised to remain loyal to the UDA brigade and the Mathira constituency residents at large. He also promised to work exceptionally hard to ensure the deputy president gets more votes from Mathira residents in the forthcoming elections.
