Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi who is serving in his first term is among the leaders who recently ditched their old parties to form new political vehicles as we head to 2022 succession politics. Kiraitu formed BUS party and he seeks to popularize in Meru County.

On Monday Evening 6th December 2021, the incumbent Governor was pictured with Deputy President William Ruto's ally Senator Mithika Linturi. Linturi is point man of Ruto and Meru County and it has raised a lot of speculation on Kiraitu's next political move.

" This evening Senator Mithika Linthuri and Imenti Central Member of Parliament Moses Kirima Ngushine paid me a courtesy call where we decided to work together as a team to steer the dream of making Meru great, " Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi posted.
