President Ruto Appoints Twenty High Court Judges

The selection of the high court judges has ended today. Our able President William Ruto has appointed twenty (20) new judges.

The judiciary service commission has stated that the judges were selected based on the merits of their gender, religion, and affirmative action.

In the exercise of his powers bestowed by Article 166(1)(a) “I William Samoei Ruto, President, and commander in chief of the Kenya Defence Forces appoint these judges..." the statement by the President read in part.

Among the appointed judges include Gachohi Patricia Njeri, Mogare Josphine Wayua Wambua, Nyakundi Patricia Mande, Kavedza Diana Rachael, Chirchir Sophie Chebet, Sifuna Nixion Wanyama.

Others are Sharrif Mwanaisha Saida, Nyaga Heston Mbogo, Chigiti John Mugwimi, Muluwa Peter Mutua, Nthiga Lawrence Mughambi, Mutai Gregory, and Wananda John Robert Anuro.

His excellency has also appointed Muhochi Samwel Mukira, Ole Francis Rayola, Ochieng Odhiambo, Githiru Freda Mugambi, Margaret Dennis Kizito Ng'wono, Macharia Florence Wangari, Odera Teresa Achieng and VisramAleem Alnshir among the twenty judges.

The commission has been entrusted with new hope to serve, protect and give justice at its independence as stated by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. The new judges have been balanced in all aspects and signed by the Commander in Chief of Defence Force Hon. William Samoei Ruto.
