The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's presidential declaration has ignited political motions in three bigwig outfits, DP Ruto's Tangatanga faction, One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and ODM.
Raila is set to give a green light to his diehard supporters today, Friday, 10th at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani where 60,000 people are expected to witness the landmark verdict from Uhuru's handshake partner.
Speaking during an exclusive interview at Citizen TV on Friday morning, Day Break show, Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Hon Boss Shollei, who is Deputy President William Ruto's heavyweight associate, admitted that Raila's Azimio la Umoja declaration is international event and not pegged on ODM affiliates only.
"Of course we know that Raila's Kasarani declaration to vie for presidency is a big event and it has tags international faces. Unlike what we have been seeing all along such events attracting only ODM allied members" Gladys Boss Shollei said.
While debunking Raila's 2018 Uhuru Park swearing in ceremony as the people's president (she referred to it as an ODM affair), the lawmaker hinted that although Azimio la Umoja forays seeks to unite Kenyans under the umbrella of peace and unity although the purported union is not guaranteed.
"We are happy that Azimio la Umoja is not like the 2018 illegal swearing in at Uhuru Park which attracted only ODM members. We have also seen Raila as a formidable candidate, he has been a force in this country, but why would he seek endorsement of five people from Mt Kenya who calls themselves as Mt Kenya Foundation?" Gladys Boss Shollei said.
Murang'a Women Representative Hon Sabina Chege, on the other hand, faulted her counterpart legislator Gladys Boss Shollei for dismissing the Mt Kenya Foundation elite billionaires allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"They (Mt Kenya tycoons) also have the interest in this country just like any other person and we can't just ignore them on the line of our political differences" Sabina Chege stated.
