The women, he said, are small scale businesswomen who major in groceries.
In a message he shared on his Facebook page, the Kimilili Mp tagged along the Deputy President and said: "William Samoei Ruto your token of Kes 1M Was well received by 500 Mama mbogas from Kimilili T junction as witnessed by more than 3,000 hustlers".
He accompanied the message with a video recording showing a group of women receiving Ksh2000 from his team that was distributed to them.
The women appeared jovial as they received the cash.
The distribution of the cash comes barely a week after the DP toured Bungoma County where he campaigned for his bottom-up economic model.
It is not clear yet whether the DP promised the women the cash.
The DP has been generous in donating huge amounts of money to various groups of people wherever he visits different parts of the country.
On Saturday, a group of 400 women from Kakamega received Ksh1.2 million from the DP.
Each received Ksh3000 to support their businesses.
