Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and other western leaders now opposite the idea of the Kenyan Electoral board IEBC to postpone the gubernatorial elections. The IEBC yesterday announced that the election in Mombasa and Kakamega for Gubernatorial seat has been pushed forward until further notice from the IEBC board officials.
As it was expected like in other 46 counties the gubernatorial election were set to happen on 9th Aug same as other elections but that didn't happen. This was because the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced a day to election that their were errors in the printing of ballot papers. This made the election to be called off to Tuesday 23rd Aug.
But yesterday, the IEBC body led by the chairman Wafula Chebukati further pushed the date forward to unknown date. This has made the current Kakamega County governor to raise concerns about the whole process. Claiming that they maybe favoring one of the aspirant.
