Wafula Chebukati Message After Declaring Ruto As Fifth President

Wafula Chebukati, the chairman of the IEBC, is said to be planning his next move after the 2022 general elections. This occurred while he was making his presidential-elect announcement in Kenya's Bomas.

Wafula Chebukati claims that in making the announcement. The general elections in 2022 would be the last that he would preside over. This clearly indicates that Wafula Chebukati will most likely resign/retire as IEBC chairman.

Wafula Chebukati, the IEBC's electoral body, also stated this. They have walked the path of ensuring that Kenyans have access to free, fair, and credible elections. It hasn't been easy, he says, because two of his commissioners and the CEO have been injured.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, on the other hand, has declared William Ruto as Kenya's newly elected fifth president. As well as Rigathi Gachagua as Vice President.

"In accordance with the constitution and the law, I, Wafula Chebukati, Chairperson of the IEBC, hereby declare that Ruto William Samoei has been duly elected as President of the Republic of Kenya," Wafula Chebukati declares.
