The former secretary general of the Kenya African National Union party was warmly welcomed by President William Ruto at a church service yesterday that other government representatives attended (KANU).

Following Azimio's departure, political analyst Herman Manyora this morning asserted that Nick Salat and KANU chairman Gideon Moi had problems getting along because Salat had a speedier approach to politics than Gideon, making it extremely difficult for them to cooperate.

In a live interview with Olive Burrows on NTV this morning, Manyora made the remarks. The other visitors NTV interviewed this morning included Charles Munyui, James Mamboleo, and Dr. Sam Mbutu.
In conclusion, Salat chose to fire Azimio because of his actions leading up to and during the August 9th elections last year, which led to Azimio's suspension by the KANU party.
