Garissa Governor, Korane on Friday said that some people in Garissa are responsible for the increasing feuds in Garissa County Assembly. This is because on Wednesday, 36 Members Of County Assembly signed a petition to impeach the County Assembly Speaker, Ibrahim Abbass. The MCAs accused him of incompetence and gross misconduct. They later filed a notice of motion and seek to initiate ouster on Tuesday next week.
However, the Governor has allegedly accused some local politicians (who he referred to have bad motives) to have initiated the whole process. Therefore he warned those politicians hindering the county's business through their fake petitions, to stop immediately. He also added that he is ready to name those local politicians behind that.
"So far no one has told us what specifically the Speaker has done, what I am only hearing is about incompetence and gross misconduct, but not even want to come out clear over that issue. I know that some local politicians are behind the whole process but let me warn them that this petition has no basis. This motion is going to fail because we are going to garner the numbers. The Governor said."
