The 2022 race is causing tension in the country as many politicians keep on taking positions ahead of the elections. The turbulent political issues has forced many leaders to look relevant by camping or decamping. The race that is taking shape each day has made president Uhuru Kenyatta to be on the run to get a suitable candidate who can be his heir.
Allegations are that the 2022 race can be messy if Mr. Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and Hon. Raila Odinga fail to address the urgent political and economic issues that are heating the political temperatures. Recently, it was reported in the Sunday Daily Nation that Uhuru is on the hunt to have a crucial meeting with Raila.
This meeting is to be convened days after Raila sent an emissary, Wycliffe Oparanya to DP Ruto to form a tough coalition to check on possibilities of the two working together ahead of the elections. In the report, it was stated that, "President Kenyatta was last evening said to be angling for a meeting with Raila Odinga, just two days after it emerged that the ODM leader could be cosying up to Deputy President William Ruto. Beyond the photo ops, what are these two up to?"
This news made many Kenyans react. Some claimed that the United Kingdom needs Raila to do the laundry of the many issues that Kenyans are complaining about. Others claimed that Uhuru Kenyatta needs to be tamed as the country is going down to nothing. Another group wondered why Uhuru should make such a desperate move to meet Raila? They claimed that it is better for them to stick to the story on the sanctions Somalia just slapped Kenya with as that sounds more believable.
