Within a few days of his appointment by President William Ruto, Mohamed Amin, the new boss of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, has once more made significant changes to the Investigative Agency.
The new DCI boss appears eager to alter a schedule with which his predecessor disagreed with the current head of state.
During his campaigns, President William Ruto reaffirmed the need to overhaul the DCI and recruit new individuals willing to serve the nation without bias or prejudice. In his inaugural address to the nation, the new DCI boss promised to work for all Kenyans.
The Anti-Counterfeit Unit that was established in 2018 by his predecessor, George Kinoti, has been disbanded by DCI Boss Amin Mohamed.
The Unit was framed by Kinoti to assist with handling the ascent of fake items which were for the most part being imported to the country.
