Mount Kenya political heavyweights are playing hardball with presidential aspirants eyeing the region's massive vote basket, which may force leading contenders to rethink their strategy.
For the first time yesterday, a section of the region's leadership led my Martha Karua, Moses Kuria and Mwangi Kiunjuri identified four priority areas for presidential candidates to commit to. They include thorny revenue sharing and representation issues.
But former organizing secretary of The Service Party which belongs to Mwangi Kiunjuri, Karungo wa Thang'wa ,has exposed what has been happening in Mount Kenya Unity talks headed by Kuria, Martha and Kiunjuri.
Karungo said that there are sharp differences between the leaders forming the Mount Kenya unity forum.
He also revealed that the action by Martha Karua and Mwangi Kiunjuri to invite Jubilee members to the forum, did not auger well with some members who are part of the forum.
He also said he he broke ranks with the forum after he realized that the forum was just a platform by the leaders, to front their own interests and not to unite Mount Kenya.
