Muchiri who declared interest to vie for the Embu gubernatorial on UDA ticket lost to Cecily Mbarire in the just concluded primaries.
Muchiri had vowed to ditch UDA with allegations that Mbarire had rigged him out.
Muchiri faces politicians that is the ex Senator Lenny Kivuti and nominated lawmaker Cecily Mbarire, who have also declared interest in the job.
Mr Kivuti vied for the gubernatorial seat in the year 2017 but lost to incumbent Martin Wambora.
After Kenya's polls body declared the winner in 2017, he filed lodged an appeal at the Supreme Court but he lost the case.
John Muchiri Nyaga was born in Mayatta in Embu County. He is currently the MP for Manyatta Constituency in Embu County. He was elected to the 11th Parliament on The National Alliance (TNA) Party ticket (Jubilee Alliance Coalition) in March 2013.
The MP was the Chairman of Gakundu Farmers Cooperative Society, which consists of small scale coffee farmers from Embu District, in the highlands of Mt. Kenya. Gakundu Farmer Co-operative Union Society Ltd (Gakundu) has been registered since 1964.
