According to the Star-News, the IEBC has denied Hon. Lomurkai, the ODM candidate in the county of Turkana, clearance. According to this source, the IEBC in Turkana County was unable to clear Lomurkai of his academic papers. They reported that the degree certificate of Hon. Lomurkai is being challenged in court. According to the IEBC, Lomurkai will not be cleared until the court instructs them on how to proceed.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission reportedly rejected Jeremiah Lomurkai's bid for the governorship of Turkana on Tuesday. MP Lomurkai is contesting for the ODM party nomination vacated by Governor Josphat Nanok. This has dealt ODM a significant hit, as the number of its candidates will decrease.
They said that Hon Lomurkai's degree certificate is being challenged in court. According to IEBC, they would not clear Lomurkai until the court gives them direction on how to proceed.
