A section of Residents in Bungoma county have asked President William Ruto to outlaw gay and lesbian relationships in the country.
This comes just a few days after the Supreme Court in the country legalized gay and lesbian relationships.
In a statement to the press, a historian who is also a herbalist in Bungoma county, Michael Misiko, said there is a need for President Ruto to outlaw gay and lesbian relationships that go against social values.
He also said that Kenya is a nation with strong Christian foundations and that the government should not allow corrupt cultures in the country.
"Kenya is led by leaders who worship God, including President Ruto, and they also disobey God, so violating it is tantamount to bringing God's wrath on the country", lamented Misiko.
At the same time, the historian asked President William Ruto to follow the example of the co-president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, who outlawed gay and lesbian relationships in the country, and also set severe penalties for those who violate the law.
"I want President William Ruto to come forward and announce that whoever is found involved in homosexuality and Lesbiansim should be jailed for one hundred years so that he/she can be a lesson to others so that there are no corrupt cases in the country", said Mr. Misiko.
Mr. Misiko criticized some parents in the society for failing to take responsibility for the upbringing of their children, something he said has contributed to the decay of morals among people, especially young people.
He also expressed his fear that if society does not come together and condemn the decision of the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex relationships, then the current and future generations may perish.
He said that there is a need for society to refer to their culture in order to save and protect their values.
This is happening while some priests of the Catholic Church in Bomet County are announcing their satisfaction with the Supreme Court's decision regarding the legalization of gay and lesbian relationships in the country.
