The 2022 presidential petition was the most hotly anticipated general election of Kenya. The four candidates who participated in the presidential race include the current president of Kenya William Samoei Ruto, former prime minister Raila Odinga, David Wahiga and professor George.
On 15th August 2022, the chairman of IEBC Wafula Wanyonyi Chebukati declared the presidential results. After he announced William Ruto as the winner of the 2022 presidential election, Azimio La Umoja lead by Former prime Minister Raila Odinga rejected the results and submitted their affidavit at the Supreme Court of Kenya. The Supreme Court of Kenya dismissed Raila's 2022 presidential petition on basis that it lacked concrete evidence on election irregularities.
Former Attorney General Githu Muigai was one of the lawyer presenting IEBC. Today, former Attorney General was spotted at Nairobi Legal Awards in Nairobi.
