2022 Politics: Former Deputy Speaker Explains Why OKA Principals Cannot Defect to Other Parties

The former national assembly deputy speaker, Farah Maalim has said that it is impossible for One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi to shift to other political parties ahead of 2022.

Maalim who was speaking to TV 47 on Monday 29th, noted that the only political camps the OKA principals could join ahead of 2022 are ODM and UDA but Raila Odinga and William Ruto have already indicated that they could pick their running mates from the vote-rich Mount Kenya region.

He said that there is no political positions that the four principals will be targeting in the two camps hence forcing them to make it all the way to the ballot.

"OKA principals cannot defect to other parties because the deputy president William Ruto and Raila Odinga have already promised the deputy presidency to the mountain region," Maalim said.

His remarks comes at a time many people have predicted that the four OKA principals could not make it to the ballot in 2022.

However, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi have maintained that they must be on the ballot and will not support anyone.
