Citizen TV today through Morning Daybreak host Sam Gituku was forced to set the record straight why Deputy President William Ruto's allies were missing from his show. Today's explanations comes after Citizen TV has been going through critism from Deputy President allies over what they termed us Citizen TV taking political sides.
However Sam Gituku explained that allies of the deputy president were invited to the Citizen TV show but they failed to turn up raising concerns whether the close United Democratic Alliance, UDA allies are walking the talk by boycotting Citizen TV services as they had threatened before.
Answering a Citizen TV viwer who was watching the the show “There was a viewer who questioned about the representation of the Deputy President side. Just to indicate here, we placed invitations. they were not available for this show and the show continues,” stated Gituku.
Ruto's allied politicians called on UDA supporters to boycott Citizen TV after reporting on the drama in Naromoru on September where the DP's allies claimed that Citizen TV was biased and maintained that the report on Naromoru chaos was exaggerated.
In October, Hustler Nation spokesperson Dennis Ole Itumbi aired another concern on Citizen TV claiming that the station was giving Ruto unfair coverage in terms of airtime. In that twit, Itumbi accussed the leading TV channel of not airing any news about Ruto over 30 minutes after prime time news commenced.
This allegations came live when Deputy President William Ruto's ally, Ndindi Nyoro Threatened to walk out of Citizen TV during a live political interview citing biasness of the channel. Nyoro was very categorical that the media station was being used to help Orange Democratic Movement , ODM party leader Raila Odinga who is the President Uhuru Kenyatta's handshake brother.
