The controversial appointment of former Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chief Executive Officer, Ezra Chiloba as new Director_General of Communications Authority of Kenya has taken the internet by storm. His appointment has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans with many questioning the government's motive after he was accused of election malpractice in 2013 general elections.

The Board Chairman of Communications Authority of Kenya, Kembi Gitura confirmed the appointment of Ezra Chiloba. His appointment to the powerful position means that he will have a direct role in the transmission of election results in the 2022 general elections.
Popular blogger, Robert Alai who has been supporting Raila Odinga's Presidential candidature has alleged that Chiloba's appointment is meant to remove cartels at Communications Authority of Kenya who are stagnating the industry and blocking its growth.
The position of Director-General of Communications Authority of Kenya is a sensitive docket as it is concerned with the transmission of election results. Ezra Chiloba who has been away from public limelight will once again have a key role to play ahead of 2022 elections.
