Influential Embu leader defects to UDA party a day after Raila's tour in the county

The former prime minister Raila Odinga camped in Mount Kenya East region for a two-day political tour. He met leaders and professionals from the region for Azimio La Umoja launch. He made several mega rallies in Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties.

Today an influential leader from Embu county has defected to UDA party a day after Raila Odinga tour in the county. The youthful leader was warmly welcomed by Manyatta legislator Hon. John Muchiri Nyaga to UDA party. The Manyatta legislator welcomed the leader today while issuing uniforms to youth teams in his constituency today.

The Gaturi south ward MCA Hon. Fredrick Gatumu Mugendi officially decamped to UDA party. The ward MCA is a member of Devolution Empowerment party which is led by former Embu senator Lenny Kivuti. The party is also associated with Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi and national assembly speaker Justin Muturi.

The youthful leader is currently serving as minority party whip in Embu county assembly. He is also the chairperson of delegated legislation committee in Embu county assembly. He is seeking his reelection as Gaturi south ward MCA.
