The crowd cheered when they heard Ruto asking to be given Sh20,000 after asking the young boy what he was selling.
Ruto was addressing a roadside crowd from the top of his vehicle when he paused his speech after spotting the young boy who was in the crowd.
The deputy president asked the people who were close to his vehicle to assist the young boy to get to the top of his vehicle.
DP Ruto is heard asking the boy what he was selling and the young boy told him he was selling small sticks which are used to scrub the teeth.
The crowd started shouting Ruto’s name as some cheered and blew vuvuzelas when they heard the DP asking to be given Sh20,000 by the person who was inside his vehicle.
The DP after giving the young boy the money told the crowd, “Huyu kijana ameona anitafutie mswaki ya meno. Nitaenda kujivinjari kule mbele.”
