Governor Lee had earlier sent out a warning to all political Leaders eyeing the Mountain not to invest heavily Citing that they may get the biggest shock in the upcoming general elections in 2022. He said that the people of Mt. Kenya region don't vote Using their heart instead they follow their head.
However the Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru who recently Decamped from the ruling Jubilee party has come out to play down Kinyanjui's remarks citing that the people of Mt Kenya has already decided and this time they will vote using both their heart and head
"While I agree that Mt Kenya wants a leader who will represent their interests- it’s definitely not in the traditional sense. This time, they will vote with both their heads & hearts; A message they understand and a messenger they feel! William Samoei Ruto." Waiguru Wrote.
Waiguru also said that there are many problems the Mt Kenya people are facing like others Kenyans and need a solution for that
"..Like many Kenyans,their business are currently suffering, their crops are not fetching best prices, they are in insurmountable debt & their hard labor is not yielding much.."Waiguru Added.
