Three Reasons Why Raila Will Not Be President 2022 (Opinion)

The 2022 general elections have been the talk of the town day in day out. Politicians and political parties aligning and forming blocs the amass high followers.

All eyes are on a presidential candidate who will be the 5th president of Kenya. All possible candidates, especially the Deputy President and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader, William Ruto, and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party boss, Raila Odinga have high odds of winning.

The former prime minister, Raila has a massive following, and the predictions of him being the next president have a higher probability.

In my opinion, I am not seeing Raila as the next president!

The first reason, we are in a revolutionized era where things are moving faster, talk of technology. Kenya needs a young and energetic President. Raila is old enough to rest and give other young emerging leaders opportunities.

Second, Raila has been on the presidential ballot since 1992, the manifestos from him seem to be more basic, they don't seem to offer any solution to Kenyans. He should tell Kenyans what are the solutions to the problems they are facing.

Lastly, I see Raila as a leader who is selfcentred. The ODM party has so many and able young and energetic candidates who can be presidents. Why all along is Raila Raila Raila? Let him allow other leaders to exercise their potentials.

What is your opinion? Should Raila be the president?
