
In the run-up to the August 9th presidential election, two former governors from the Raila side of the political divide defected and joined Ruto's Kenya Kwanzaa with the hope that ruto will become the next president and therefore reward them for their service to him.

The two included former kwale governor who defected from Jubilee party which was under the leadership of President Uhuru muigai kenyatta and Alfred mutua who defected from azimio and carrying away his wiper party to the Kenya kwanza Coalition.

Today the two leaders have been mentioned by President William ruto as part of his kitchen cabinet which is expected to carry out the key responsibility of governing the country in the next 5 years.

The former governor Alfred mutua of machakos and Salim Mvurya of kwale have been awarded with the ministry of foreign affairs and mining which has been a key position in Uhuru's administration.
Ruto has today made public a list of close to 22 leaders who will help him in governing the nation including a former ANC leader musalia mudavadi.
