As part of a wider scheme to keep his Supporters especially from Mount Kenya region loyal, he has been Crisscrossing the area having held a number of meetings.

Over the weekend, he was in Nyeri County whereby the area governor Mutahi kahiga hinted at joining United democractic Alliance leaders (UDA) together with Tetu MP.

The move has been described by many observers as a huge win for the DP who isn't in good relationship with the region's kingpin president Uhuru kenyatta.

However, reactions are varied. Blogger Robert Alai who is allied to ODM leader Raila Odinga, has today alleged reasons for Ruto's visit to the region over the weekend.

Taking to his twitter account, Alai said that Ruto's own research in May this year revealed that he had 79% Support in mount Kenya while Raila only had 9%.

He went on to say that one week ago, another research by Ruto Revealed that his Popularity has come down to just 42% aggainst 25% of Raila Odinga.

This according to Alai prompted Ruto to go back to Nyeri to campaign immediately Raila Odinga left the region.

Alai's allegations Elicited mixed reactions with some feeling that mount Kenya is already taken by Ruto and therefore Raila should just concentrate on his traditional turf.
