Raila Odinga has been moving around Mount Kenya region claiming that he was the one who stood by president Kibaki in 2002 when he was sick but still propelled him to the presidency. Well, today while speaking at Mount Kenya foundation meeting. Former Presidential Candidate Cyrus Jirongo dismissed Odinga narrative that he is supposed to be supported becouse he stood by president Kibaki during hard times. Jirongo continued by asking Mount Kenya region leaders not to come together with already formed mind on the candidate they will back come 2022.
" I want to tell you our central region friends something. In 2002, we the Luhya land Supported Kibaki more than any community. We never said anything or requested for anyone to back as payback. This time round, let no one say that he was the one who made Mwai president. That one should not happen" said Jirongo.
Bungoma county senator Moses Wetangula also claimed that he stood by president Kibaki in 2008 when the country was at war and he did everything in making sure that he reminded the president. He therefore Destroyed Odinga's narrative that he Supported the president that time and he should be supported too this time round.
