President Ruto today suspended the embattled IEBC Commissioner led by vice chair Juliana Cherera.
In a gazette notice sent to newsrooms on Friday, the head of state said their suspension was effective immediately.
The other commissioners are Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi and Irine Masit.
This move has sparked alot of reactions online with netizens led by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino now questioning president Ruto's loyalty.
According to Owino, he wondered why president Ruto is frustrating the people of Kenya who he said are down, yet he claims to be a prayerful leader.
"President William Ruto said he is a God-fearing prayerful person who prays in the morning, lunchtime and evening. The Bible says revenge should be left to God, he is already the president. Why is he frustrating people who are down?" Babu Owino asked.
The head of state said the decision came following a recommendation by the National Assembly that sought to oust the commissioners over their conduct during the August 9th, 2022 General Election.
