President William Ruto has this evening received a message from his deputy who has begged for his forgiveness because of the manner in which he showed up at his event and during his birthday wearing gumboots.
After he was welcomed on stage by cabinet secretary Soipan Tuya, the first thing Gachagua did was to try to convince the president to understand his new look at such a crucial event.
According to Gachagua, it was not his wish to put on gumboots but it was because he came with an intention of planting trees in Kajiado hence the kind of shoes he wore today.
He went ahead to urge Ruto to understand the situation. He also wished a happy birthday for the president who has just turned fifty six years this Wednesday.
"On behalf of all government workers and the people of Kenya, I want to wish you a happy birthday. I also want you to forgive me because I have come to your birthday while wearing gumboots. It's not that I have looked down upon you since I respect you. This is just work am doing because even you yourself once approved the idea of work being treated properly," said DP Gachagua.
