The general elections in 2022 have drawn the most attention in Kenyan electoral history. This is because it was difficult to predict who would win because the competitors were all strong. The IEBC is still tallying the results as they come in from various polling places across the nation on the third day of the election.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission chairman, Wafula Chebukati commenced on the verification of Forms 34B which contain the presidential results. For the winner to be declared by the commission, they must verify all the forms 34Bs from the 290 constituencies.
Deputy President William Ruto who was running under the United Democratic Alliance has garnered 6,811,067. This translates to 50.2% of the votes tallied so far. The Orange Democratic Party Leader Raila Odinga follows closely with 6,659,476 which translates to 49.1% of the votes tallied, this is according to KTN news which seems to be ahead of other stations
The Roots Party Presidential Candidate George Wajackoyah follows With 57,308 votes tallied which are around 0.4%. Then David Mwaure follows with 0.24% of the votes tallied.
