President William Ruto has again received another shocker after lobby group filed another petition to challenge his move. This is after a man filed a petition to stop the vetting of the Principal Secretaries an event that is scheduled to take place tomorrow. Mr. Maina in his petition has stated that one of the PS Sylvia Muhoro was not one of the 585 applicants. The inclusion of Ms Muhoro in the list has now cast doubts on the competitiveness of the entire team.
The vetting of principal secretaries (PSs) by the National Assembly that is scheduled to start tomorrow may now stall following this petition to have the short-listing of the 52 nominees quashed for failing to meet the constitutional threshold. The petition that was filed under a certificate of urgency by lawyer Sheillah Mengesa claims that one of the 52 people in President William Ruto’s list had not been interviewed by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Ms Mengesa, who filed the case on behalf of Mr Stephen Kariuki Maina, the petitioner, has questioned the basis upon which the name of Ms Sylvia Naseya Muhoro, was included among those short-listed. Initially, the list of the Principal Secretaries had 51 nominated candidates but the inclusion of Sylvia Naseya Muhoro has now raised concerns.
