Kivutha Kibwana Issues a Powerful Statement After His Deputy Adelina Mwau Joined Ruto's UDA Party

Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana has broken his silence after his deputy Adelina Mwau on Tuesday morning joined Deputy President William Ruto's UDA Party.

Mwau who will be seeking the county top job in the August elections has been Kivutha's deputy for the past nine years.

In a statement as quoted by Citizen TV, Kibwana dismissed Mwau's move stating that she will walk alone as the residents of Makueni have been the 'decision maker' in their politics.

The second term governor claimed that Mwau's decision to join UDA will in one way affect their working relations in the remaining days.

"My attention has been drawn to the clandestine dealings between Adelina Mwau and UDA. While I respect Adelina for the good working relations for the last nine years, her latest move puts our working together on the edge. However, the voice of the people of Makueni County has always been our guide in decision making," said Kibwana.

He reinstated that the residents of Makueni told him to join hands with Raila Odinga under the Azimio La Umoja, a move that forced him to shelve his presidential ambitions.
