Just In: Akombe Out As President Uhuru Names New IEBC Commissioners.

The search for Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) might have come to an end after the move that has been taken by president Uhuru Kenyatta.

As it was indicated earlier, IEBC was to have it's commissioners removed and replaced with new ones before we move to the next general elections which will be held on August 2022.

Today, the president has resolved the issue that was getting hard to deal with after he decided nominate people will be expected to serve as new IEBC commissioners after being vetted by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC).

The four who are Francis Wanderi, Justus Abonyo, Juliana Cherera and Irene Cherop will be vetted by the JLAC committee headed by Kangema MP Muturi Kigano.

They will be replacing commissioners Roselyn Akombe, Paul Kurgat, Margaret Mwachanya and former Vice-Chair Consolata Maina. Once they undergo a successful vetting, these four will be the new commissioners at the IEBC.
