"Keep Off HELB" MP Babu Owino Sends a Strong Message to President Ruto Over Bid to Abolish HELB

A fresh bid by President William Ruto's government to abolish the Higher Education Loans Board(HELB) has continued to trigger numerous reactions.

Vocal Embakasi East Constituency MP Hon Babu Owino has reacted to President Ruto's bid to abolish HELB sending a strong message to the President.

Babu has told President Ruto to keep off matters pertaining to HELB and deal with other issues facing the country.

The legislator has argued that most of the university students who benefit from HELB funding come from very sorry backgrounds.

He has added that only education can save thestudents from the york of poverty which hangs on their necks and therefore their means of funding their education should not be abolished.

"Ruto maneno ya University HELB wachana nayo Kabisa.Comrades come from very sorry backgrounds and ONLY Education will save them from the York of poverty hanging on their necks. For we live in an hour of change and challenge,decade of hope and fear,in an age of both knowledge and ignorance .The greater our knowledge increases the greater our ignorance unfolds," MP Babu Owino said.
