Hon. Jeremiah Kioni seems to have been one of the casualties of mass rebellion against his Jubilee Party in Mount Kenya Region. Kioni has served Ndaragwa Constituency as a Member of Parliament since 2007. During what has now proven to be his last term, Kioni has been the chairman of the Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee in the National Assembly. Hon Jeremiah Kioni is currently the Secretary General of the weakened Jubilee Party.

As the Jubilee Party Secretary General, Hon Kioni has been a strong supporter of the Azimio a Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga. Raila's win could be a relief to the legislator who perhaps could be considered for a position in the Azimio government. Kioni is one of the few legislators from Mount Kenya Region who have remained loyal to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
